Stress Test

This stress test was created by two American psychologists. Check out this scale of 48 life events to discover how much stress you have in your life.

Each event has a corresponding score associated with it. Events are scored on the basis of the amount of stress such an event would normally cause.

According to the scale, these are the ten most stressful life events one can encounter:

  1. Death of a partner
  2. Divorce
  3. Separation from a partner
  4. Being imprisoned
  5. Death of a close family member
  6. Personal illness or injury
  7. Getting married
  8. Being dismissed from work
  9. Changing jobs
  10. Retiring

(Holmes and Rahe. (1967) “The social readjustment rating scale.” Psychosomatic Medicine, 11: 213-18.)

What is your stress level?

Stress produces a variety of symptoms. Each of these falls into one of four categories:

  • Psychological (your personal way of thinking.)
  • Emotional (what you feel)
  • Behavioral (the things you do)
  • Physical (your body's response)

Now look at the table below. It lists the various stress symptoms. Compare each statement in the table to how you feel at this moment in time. For each symptom that you are experiencing, mark an X on a separate piece of paper. Once you have finished analyzing the list, add up your score. You can read your assessment below.

Testimonial

I have tried a lot of relaxation products and techniques. Your Instant Relaxation recording is far and away the best I have ever encountered.

After listening, I felt more relaxed then ever before. My muscles felt soothed and healed and my mind was clear and refreshed - ready to take on the rest of the day.

It was like I had just woke up from a good night sleep. The best part is, it only took 14 minutes of my time!

I would tell people, if you want to feel more rejuvenated, more alive, and less stressed, you need to get a copy of this recording right away!"
